Era ends, famous horse farm to be homes

Windfields farm, in Whitby Ontario is sold and will be demolished for subdivisions. This is the farm where famous horse "Northern Dancer" was from and used to be legendary in the area. Now it's practically surrounded by urban sprawl and becoming shabby.

Sad to see the character of the country turning into faceless cookie cutter homes. Good farmland to boot.

I can remember when Northern Dancer won the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness, and I think the Queen's Plate in 1963. It made Canada proud. Too bad the farm is going too. It looks like Gary Hill will be having a busy day!
