Hello, this is my first of many posts to this forum.
I have a john deere 300b with a loader and 3 point arms on the back. I have an internal hydraulic leak I'm trying to figure out before tearing it apart.
First off, the lever position is only useful for about an inch of the total travel, lots of free travel before they pick up, and when they do it's very sensitive. Different draft positions affect this a little, but not much.
Secondly, with a 6 ft shredder on back, raised all the way up, any movement of the loader will allow the shredder to fall until the loader handle is back in it detent, then the shredder jumps back up. Similarly, when the tractor is shut off, the shredder falls very fast.
So first off I assumed this was a rock shaft cylinder leak, but looking through the oil fill cap, the cylinder wall looked dry. However I can see oil dripping fast from the valve.
What do y'all think? Bad o rings in the valve?
