I have a 2008 JD 3720 and have been getting the Error Code 57 for a couple of months now. It is random and doesn't seem to effect the operation of the tractor, at least until this week. Yesterday I tried to start when it was really cold. Plugged the heater in for a couple of hours and let the glow plugs light for several minutes but the glow plug light on the dash never went out. Tractor would not start. Thought the battery might be too weak to heat the plugs so we connected the battery with jumper cables to another source. Still would not start since the glow light went out. We finally wiggled a few of the fuses in the fuse box and immediately the glow plug went out and the error code 57 showed up but the tractor started and worked fine. Now today I have the same issue.
First, how do I correct the error code 57? Since its out of warranty, if its just a part I have a mechanic friend that can replace it without getting JD assistance. Would this be giving me issues with the starting sequence?
