Anyone have experience with one or both of these? The Schulte I believe is a new model for this year replacing the BX74. Any general info on where they fall in quality/performance is appreciated. The Erskine is roughly $1k less. Thanks

Going on a new Kioti NX4510CH and used in wet heavy snow.

I do not own either of these units and I am not trying to spend your money but with the heavy wet snow being Sierra Cement you should also look at the Pronovost TRC800 as it has a rotating impeller drum to discharge heavy wet snow left or right bypassing the chute and spout.

One of the the largest benefits is the Schulte SBX75 has adjustable skid shoes which will prevent digging into the ground once you have the top link leveled and the skids are also replaceable where the skids on the Erskine skid shoes are welded on to the cross auger housing.

The Schulte SBX75 has an enclosed chain drive separate from the cross auger housing and easily tensioned and away from the ice and snow.

The Schulte snow caster is 30 pounds heavier than the Erskine snow caster.

What ever unit you purchase you should buy a gallon of fluid film and a sprayer to coat every thing that contacts snow being the cross auger housing, impeller housing, impeller paddles, the chute and spout to make them very slick to quickly dispose of the snow and to reduce any chance of plugging.

If it were me I would invest in the Pronovost TRC800 simply due to the rotating impeller housing to deal with your heavy snows. I would still use fluid film for the Pronovost TRC800 as well.

No matter which unit you choose you must remember that you will be generating a lot of heat from the friction created by the impeller which will be transmitted to the impeller housing and will melt any snow left in the impeller housing. The Impeller housing should have a drain hole or holes in it to dispose of any melt water.

If you own a space heater/salamander/torpedo heater it would also be a very good idea to melt off any ice and snow that has accumulated on the snow blower to get rid of it and prevent any chance of having a frozen impeller and any chunks of ice becoming frozen in the cross auger housing.
I use my space heater to melt off the snwo and ice and also warm up the tractor before I even start them up as a warm engine and transmission will be much more responsive.

I use fluid film on my junk JD 44 inch snow caster and the tow Toro Snow Pups I own and the distance the snow is thrown is doubled especially with heavy wet snow that has been melted with rock salt.
