Does anyone have an Erskine rear pull snowblower? what would one expect to pay for them? and most of all are they any good?
A rear pull blower would work better for me, we don't get alot of snow here in Oklahoma, mainly Ice. but I have lots of customers here that would like to have the parking lots scrapped and cleared.
Thanks for the info.

I looked at one earlier this year. Talked to Deur Implement in Newago, MI. Rear pull 60 was $4600, delivery about $100 (to Chicago suburbs). 213.924.3420 if you want to call him. A little more than I could spend at the moment, maybe Obama will have a cash for clunker implements program and I can trade something in. They appear very well made, the thing weighs about 800# which is pretty heavy for a 60".

I have the 60" rear pull with the hydraulic rotator. It works great. The only issue, if you can call it that, is that it doesn't throw the snow all that far; maybe 10' or so. Aside from that minor quibble I'm very happy with it.

I'm surprised, my little walk behind throws it farther than 10'. I assume you're running at full PTO speed. Is the snow really wet?

I got mine this year for $4600.00 delivered with hyd shoot. Wish I had some snow. They also build blowers for Bobcat, Very well built.

Those Erskine type snow blowers are great for a farm road.....but for parking lots I think you need to look for something else. The ones I have seen will blow the snow a long way.....but the chutes are normally short and you cannot control the snow being blown. (maybe there is a later model that I have not seen)

Those pull types are fine for farm lanes and drifts....but likely not the best for lots of deep snow (or parking lots IMO).

I see used ones around here for a couple of hundred bucks.....on CL. They may be too old (??)

Erskine makes a current model that is 2-stage and draw-forward, available with hydraulic chute turner, deflector angle etc. Easier on your neck than the backup type. Like everything else by Erskine its a high-quality piece.

Oddly enough the snow weight isn't much of a factor; wet or fluffy gets thrown about the same distance. I'm running it at a full 540 rpm.

Do you know how it works in deep snow?

The deepest that I've pulled it through was 16" - 20". I had to drop my forward speed down but other than that it ate the snow without issue.
