Those price increases were kind of to be expected, with or without the new emissions.

I could be wrong but I expect the F50 to sell very well in my country as we like our tractors to be very compact with lots of HP, displacement and tight turning radius.

Also, you may need to buy your tractor in Portugal. :D We pay 13% taxes over agricultural equipment (tractors, implements, etc).

So the F50 is the equivalent of the 4815 in the US for those wondering.

It's interesting that they discontinued the F47, but it does make sense. No point on keeping two models within 2 or 3 HP apart, knowing first hand that people will get the higher displacement (A2300 engine) one versus the turbo one (A1700 Turbocharged engine) plus having to adapt the F47 to the Stage V.

Hi ptsg,

16 % are the german taxes. It's 20 % for France and 10 % in my particular area for farmers.
If someone buy a new tractor (or car) in any different European country he will pay 0% taxes BUT will have to pay its own taxes when he will registrate his tractor in his own country and, as well, has to give the proof to the seller he did pay his taxes. So, no way to escape from your own taxes !

About F50 I found this document by chance surfing the web.
It is not visible yet on the Branson Germany official website.
I think it will be online after 2 days.

About size, you are right, in southern Europe we like small size tractors with a good deal of power. It is exactly what I need.

France = 20% tax on a new tractor, for legitimate farm use?

Hi Fried1765,

Hopefully not :
Hobby farmer or home owner : 20% taxes (the same for cars).
Professional Farmer : taxes 20 % refundable.

Cars = 20%....certainly explains the many tens of thousands of bicycles in the Netherlands, and Europe in general.

Let's not forget the prices of fuel.

Diesel doesn't get much lower that $5.20/gal and that's the crappiest diesel. The regular diesel is like 30 to 40 cents mores and the premium diesel is much much higher than that.

Gas is no less than $6.50/gal.

But y'all's countries are smaller. :p

What's premium diesel- higher cetane?

Also it's interesting that the only 20/25 series in the German/european lineup is the 5025. Here the 20 series is the big seller and they stopped selling the 25s.

Yes, higher cetane for the most part and maybe more additives here and there.

The difference is very noticeable though.

5025 and 6225 are all the 25 series we get now. They used to offer more tractors of the 25 series but the bigger size frame makes it tricky for our tight quarters.

Yes......but the ambiance of Europe in general, and Germany, and Portugal in particular, might just be worth it.
My family heritage is Europe, and I lived in Southern Spain for several years.
If my children were not here in the USA, I would have moved to either Germany, or Portugal, when I retired 20 years ago.
I have US grandchildren now, and at 80, am now too old to change lifestyle.
I have had a great life, but there have been several difficult choices along the way.
