Kubota Grand L3130
This is a backblade I bought from a friend for use on my 3130. It weighs about 1,500# and really transforms my bota into a weapon - I've ripped through a good deal of quartz/shale in the mountains. The plates on it are very old and so I'm not able to read the manufacturer etc. The black piece on the front is one I had welded up, to allow me to use the ballast box spreader bar to pick it up without messing with the three point pins etc.

PS: the subject line should read *seen*

Never seen one but I like it. Looks like it is really tough. Looks like you can raise the scarifiers easily, does the rear blade swing up like a gate too?

I'm surprised that 3130 doesn't do a wheelie with that thing on the back.

Did you get a good price on it?

Yes it's virtually bulletproof. The scarifiers are raised from the seat by that handle with three positions. The rear blade has two parts, the first being the blade of course and the second being a heavy hinged trailing blade out the back which smooths and compresses the material left. It doesn't lift up like a gate though you get the same effect by setting the teeth at their highest setting which lifts the blades off the ground. The 3130 handles it well, but I do think it pushes the 3pt to its limit. My FEL keeps the wheelies in check. I got it for $800.00 and the promise to call him first if I ever want to sell it.

I think $800 (Canadian?) is very fair for that piece. I'd have bought it in an instant. How wide is it? Looks like a 6 footer.

i'm always proud to buy something that is used but top quality vs. buying newer, cheaper stuff...

Yes its a 6 foot blade and it was in canadian dollars three years ago so probably so back then that would be $650 USD. I'm the same I'd rather get a high quality used piece then a newer one of less quality.

I agree buying used well maintained equipment is the way to go. Chipper for under 1k, post hole digger under 500$, trac vac for 200$ gotta love craigslist
