Looks pretty lavish. Too lavish. Wonder what the salaries are like? How do they motivate the slackers...a sauna or by termination? What's is the motivation? Do they have the caste system?

I guess I am old school and look at having life as "work life", and "real life", both separate.

Your looking at people who have made a ton of money, being outside the box thinkers. I would also think the hours they work, the way a lot rides on their shoulders would mean more stress, which means go postal or get to work out. If you dont have to leave early to get drycleaning, it means more productivity.
When your work is better equiped then home, why spend all that time at home when you could be at work? It is devious if you think of it that way.

This is the real "Revenge of the Nerds". They are the only ones getting cool jobs like that.

I've heard thru friends that work in a competitor from Seattle we won't name but you may be there a couple days working very long hours, that's why all the free coke (a cola) and letting you make the place feel like home. The stress chair there probably has a waiting line. My de stress chair is black surrounded by orange. Way more cool!:laughing:

I was at the old Google headquarters for a day and thought that was pretty cool, the new place looks outstanding. In the part of the old place I was in around every corner was a cooler with pretty much anything you wanted to drink and there was a full coffee/snack shop where you could make whatever you wanted. The onsite chef made lunch every day. All of it was free.

You have to remember they mostly hire the best and the brightest right out of college so these are young people with 'no life' outside of work. You pretty much never have to leave which means you much spend every waking hour thinking about or doing your job. Loads of really smart people. Some of the 'talent' was very easy on the eyes too... have to be an awesome job at that age. :D

It's actually a brilliant idea to have all those benefits in an office. I work in the software industry and have for many years, it's stressful and no fun to be looking at a screen all day. Sometimes you just need a break and if you can do it within the building, you'll be back at work in no time doing more hours. Currently I work from 7am-6pm at a client's site and then I just need to get out of there and breath/eat/vent, etc. Once I have done this, I can work another 2-3hrs with no problem. Just need a change in scenery and pace for a bit and then I can think again. Wish I had a office like that but then again I don't mind my home office when I'm not with a client!

It might make a nice resort but I wouldn't want to work there. It seems wasteful.

It is a non-traditional place for people to do non-traditional work. Programmers and creative types often work in 'flow' or 'in the zone' where they have such intense concentration that hours go by without notice. It is hard to get 'in the zone' and easy to get out of it so by having every little need addressed right there you are more likely to stay in the zone. If you can literally live at work for days without really noticing it they are getting maximum productivity from you.
