......You find a tool that not only acheives your goal, but far exceeds any expectations you might have had. I found one of those tools.
Some of us are too "thrifty" to hire out tire repairs. I've owned a fluid pumping set-up for ages. 4 tire irons, a tire hammer, and a bead breaker chisel enabled me to change tractor tires as I needed, albiet with a LOT of pounding, swearing, sore hands, dented rims, hard work, well, you get the picture. It wasn't any fun.
Enter the BEAD-CHEATA. They're available through most mail order/on-line tractor parts houses, wholesale tire dealers, better auto parts stores, ect. It's a mechanical device that you drive (with a hammer) between the rim and the tire, then it locks to the rim, and with a wrench, it forces the tire off the rim. We changed 4 rear tires today, fluid out and back in all 4, without saying one bad word, no rim abuse, and a LOT of smiling
Anyone that's ever had to beat a tire off of a rim with a hammer would appreciate the simplicity and efficiency of the BEAD-CHEATA. I got mine on sale for $135. I think the normal retail is around $169. After one tire, I would have given 10 times that much.
All that AND a bag of chips!
