The lawn forum members sent me over here so this is the post that I am yet to get a response to.
I am an independent mobile small engine mechanic dealing mostly with domestic mowers , chain saws & the like but occasionally some one throws me a curve ball.

Got a JD 415 powere by a Yanmar 3007D002 3 cyl deisel stuck in a customers paddock.
Deisels are not my forte but I can generally stumble my way through.
Now I am not getting any fuel flow to the pump , at the pump and sifting throught the parts book do not see a lift motor.
So am I correct in assuming the fuel pump is a two stage unit ?
I also could not see any manual priming pump, do they have one ?
Cracked the injectors and only get bubbles so am assuming a lift pump fault.
Customer says he was mowing & it just cut out.
Fuel bowl is full clean & has no water visible.
This mower is not in a well maintained state there was 3" of dust all over the printed circuit board but removal made little difference.

The glow plugs them selves do not get warm to the touch at the terminal end . I am used to plugs that get quite warm if repeatedly turned on .is this normal ?
I would like to get it running at least well enough to get it out of the paddock and the hydraulic lift mid mount mowing deck out , Gees these are heavy.

Any idea where I could lay my hands on a wiring diagram & or fuel flow diagram ?
Thanks

Best bet, IMO, is to get the service technical manual for the 415 (includes the 425, 445, and 455).
Google should find either paper copies or CD copies available.

May be the fuel solenoid causing the problem. But I'd be changing the fuel filter first.

Other help may be forthcoming..

The yanmar site below is quite helpful.
I see that they either have a mechanical lift pump or an electric one and the injection pump has just one job.
I think the model number you look for would be a TV3007 but I am not a Yanmar expert.
YANMAR | Service & Maintenance
Also this site for a complete service manual maybe not for your engine but another one used by John Deere and made by Yanmar.

Can you not follow the fuel line back to the tank to find the lift pump?

A typical 425, 445, 455 has an electric lift pump in the fuel tank under the fenders but I don't know if the euro 415 has one or not.

Thank you Dave good leads.
I bought a downloadable JD manual last night and the printer is busy chuggng through the 388 pages.

I was hoping for a little direction before I rip the customers tractor apart in the middle of a paddock 2km from his shed.
Even worse would be to pull the body off to find no lift pump at the tank, loose bits in the 3' tall scrubby weeds he was mowing at the time, let alone things like snakes.
The plan now is to use an old mower tank to hold 5 liters of diesel hooked up direct to the filter inlet high enough to gravity feed into the pump and tie back the cut off solenoid if it does not retract.
This will get it back to his shed where it can be worked on.

Well I loaded the petrol powered compressor in the van and armed with the wiring diagrams, jumper leads of all types & sizes, meters & gauges fuel lines and temporary fuel tank.
Started off with a thorough blow down of the two circuit boards, front & back ( using a trick blower gun ) .
Boy was there a lot of dust in there, could have grown a bushel of spuds in it.
Any way gave it a kick in the guts & it fired right up.
It would appear that the dust was shorting out the control boards.
Bit of an anti climax to be truthful. all those hours pouring through the manuals and circuit diagrams. tracing out circuits with coloured pencils and all I really needed to do was fart in the right direction.
So the customer got a bill for 3 hours work, and decided to book it in for a service, "had one a little while ago " well not in the past 5 years according to the records.
Thanks every one for your help
I will go back over to Lawn World and contine to play with the other little toys and leave you big boy's to your real tractors.
