I put a 35 watt worklamp on one side facing the rear and Id like to add a 55watt hologen to the r.o.p.s. facing forward on the other leg of the worklamp circuit. This circuit has its own relay and 10 amp fuse. My wiring diagram lists two 35 watt worklamps as a option. Can I go with the 55 +35 watt instead of two 35 watt lights with the factory wiring? Can anyone tell me if this is feasible ? My alternator is a denso 40 amp. Thanks
Yes you can do anything you want, will it be in the best interest of the tractor, IMHO... No !
First question, will both lights be on at the same time ?
if so, you are talking 7.5 amps for both lights, this IMHO is max for the circuit. You need a little additional amperage allowance for the initial turn on of the lights if both used at once.
Two 35 watt lights draw 6 amps and again that is the OEM Max rating so your 35/55 lamps will be pushing the OEM limit.
If you do wire the 35 and 55 watt lights and
I would not do it on the OEM Circuit, but if you do use two switches and do not use both lights at the same time for extended periods.
Remember, OEM calls for two 35 watt lights on that circuit, anything other than that is overloading the circuit and may cause excessive heat, which may in turn cause a fire.
These are my views and I consider them to be the safer way to wire Aux Lighting.
Enough said, Good Luck,
