Cub Yanmar 3200
I just ordered a work light kit from my dealer for my EX3200.They could not tell me what it consists of. They didn't know if it was 1 light or 2.They even called cub and other dealers and even they didn't know(Must be a hot seller)I ordered it and she said I didn't have to buy it if it wasen't what I wanted. Has anyone here installed one of these kits? Thanks

HEY, How did this go ?
One light or two; to me a “Work Light” kit is one but just wodering.

Where do they want you to hook it up ?

What wattage is the OEM Light ?

Any switch ?

Here is what the rear work light consists of. It is one light 35watts. Plugs into the existing wiring harness. There must be a on -off switch on the light because there is power to the circuit all the time when the key is turned on. My dealer wanted over $90.00 for the kit so I just went over to the light aisle and picked out a 35 watt light and a waterproof toggel switch and put that on. Total cost $23.00. I had to cut the OEM plug off.

Nice to have the OEM stuff AND that circuit can handle just that one light but sometimes you want MORE light and the only way to get it is new circuits.

Next problem, more than one lights will start to tap the resources of the alternator/battery, to much draw and the battery starts to drain.

I put a 35 watt worklamp on one side facing the rear and Id like to add a 55watt hologen to the r.o.p.s. facing forward on the other leg of the worklamp circuit. This circuit has its own relay and 10 amp fuse. My wiring diagram lists two 35 watt worklamps as a option. Can I go with the 55 +35 watt instead of two 35 watt lights with the factory wiring? Can anyone tell me if this is feasible ? My alternator is a denso 40 amp. Thanks

Yes you can do anything you want, will it be in the best interest of the tractor, IMHO... No !

First question, will both lights be on at the same time ?
if so, you are talking 7.5 amps for both lights, this IMHO is max for the circuit. You need a little additional amperage allowance for the initial turn on of the lights if both used at once.
Two 35 watt lights draw 6 amps and again that is the OEM Max rating so your 35/55 lamps will be pushing the OEM limit.

If you do wire the 35 and 55 watt lights and I would not do it on the OEM Circuit, but if you do use two switches and do not use both lights at the same time for extended periods.

Remember, OEM calls for two 35 watt lights on that circuit, anything other than that is overloading the circuit and may cause excessive heat, which may in turn cause a fire.

These are my views and I consider them to be the safer way to wire Aux Lighting.

Enough said, Good Luck,

For what it's worth, I have a 40 Amp alternator on my Kubota BX and have 2 forward facing 100watt off-road lights and two facing aft mounted on steel plates U-bolted to the ROPs. I turn them all on to snow-blow in the dark winter eves or mornings and occasionally to Brush Hog at night. They will decrease the engine revs when all are turned on but work flawlessly. Same battery since new and the tractor is a 2005.

400 watts of lighting on a charging system that put out 40 amp is pushing the limits.
400 watts at 12 V is a 33+ amp draw that leave only 7 amps for anything else electrical.
If you run your headlights or flashers and expect it all to work you will drain the battery and run the alternator in the ground from working too hard. (i.e. "They will decrease the engine revs when all are turned on?.

But as I always say, it is your tractor good luck.
