Examining used hydro fluid

From that:

If the cost of analysis is a lot less than the cost of a change get an analysis.

Example:
My F350 requires about 15 quarts for an engine oil change. "Recommended" every 3,000 to 5,000 miles. Using Rotella T6 I went over 18,000 miles with good UOA's.

"Recommended".....doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out who set that spec. Grin

Problem is how many folks fell and still fall for it.

I would agree with having a sample tested, products like zinc get "used up", part of the reason that zinc free oils are so expensive and generally advertise a longer change interval. Test's are relatively inexpensive and all kinds of outlets to get one done.
