Excellent deal?

I'm looking at tractors that would cost $17,000-$20,000 with this much HP, a cab & 4x4.

Tell me about Iseki & this tractor. I know nothing about them. It's intriguing to me because it's a lot of tractor for $8,500.

Hi I'm no expert on Iseki's but I'll cough up what I know. They have been around a long time and have supplied tractors for Massey as well as Agco, White and others. They appear to enjoy a reputation as being of the highest quality.
I have a TL2900 (mid-eighties) thats 29 pto hp 4cyl 4wd. I'm very happy with it. It seems quite robust, runs great. I'm actually looking at a TA357F very similiar to the one on Ebay that you are interested in. The price is good but it has a few issues. The hr meter doesn't work and there is some play in the front wheels. I see they aren't listing the hours in the auction which would concern me with the TA457 your looking at.
My TL2900 crosses over very close to a White Field boss 37 so I'm not too worried about getting parts but I wonder about availabity with some other models. Likely can be got but would have to come from Japan. Gerry

I have a TL3200 and like it would buy another ISEKI. the parts can cost alot but you can get most of them. thare is one new tractor iseki dealer in the USA that helps alot. If you are thinking about a loader find out if this will make a good loader tractor first a few models wont. dont by a tractor that says it was just rebuilt. new agco and cat chalnger tractors are Iseki. sounds like a lot of tractor good luck......Larry

I saw this tractor in Japan, I passed on it due to high hours, as I remember they were around 4000. I would contact the seller and see how many hours it has.

Iseki is a good tractor.....but part are another story.

First they are high and the nearest new parts are not in the continential United States. If you are in the contruction business and need a tractor with little or no down time I would buy something other than Iseki.

If Iseki was so great, (and they are a good strong tractor) why are there so few of them on the market? One other thing make sure you have a mechanic near by who can and will work on it. I own one and I can't find a service manual in English. Mine has an injector pump problem and no one know, at least in my area, what kind of pump it has on it. It is a Bosch type not a Bosch.

Just my thoughts.

Don, it's probably a Japanese Kiki model like mine, designed much like the Bosch. I have a local diesel engine service that had no problem checking mine out and checking injector spray patterns. If it's an Isuzu motor you can get new parts from DESSCO in Utah (DESSCO.com).
