Antonio Carraro TRX6400
Hi,

I have a 2002 antonio carraro trx6400 which had not been moved for around 6 years. Initially it was not starting, this turned out to be a stuck injector pump which has now been repaired.

The problem is that there is a large amount of black smoke coming from the exhaust all the time and when the tractor is hot the engine does not switch off with the key. I have to stall it to get the engine to stop.

I have been advised that this could be carbon build up in the cylinders? If so what would be the best way to fix this?

Or any other ideas what the problem could be?

Thank you

Black smoke is too much fuel to air mixture. And I don't care how much carbon build up there is, it won't run unless it is still getting fuel.
It is a pump issue. At least that is where I would look. Is the fuel cut-off internal to that pump?
And for good measure, change the air filter to eliminate one possible cause for the black smoke issue.

Could it be sucking enough crank case oil through worn/damaged rings (or due to oil, diluted by fuel, getting past good rings) and "dieseling" on just that?
