Exhaust Extension to Eliminate Indoor Fumes

I would like to have a quick attach hose to attach to my JD 3720 exhaust when I back it into my under house garage for winter storage to eliminate stinking the whole house up with diesel fumes. It would need to be only 8 to 10' long. What is used ? I am open to suggestions.

454, Some here have used an exhaust hose like the garage shops use to direct the fumes outdoors.

Very hard rubber composition ,may need to use a reducer to choke down diameter somewhat to fit exhaust pipe, also a threaded hole or two with a screw in the reducer to hold hose unit in place as on an exhaust tip extension, while tractor is being moved in or out.

Second option is exhaust fans located where they would be able to remove fumes before getting into house... /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Just ran my NH 40 hp Boomer for several days inside my garage (door open) and fed the exhaust outside using two parts. Lost electric power in a thunderstorm and had to use the PTO generator. Right at the tractor, started with a flexible piece of stainless steel exhaust, about 8 ft long and connected with a muffler clamp to the tractor, which has a low exhaust by the front wheel. Had to slit the end of the flex pipe to fit in the clamp since the smallest flex I could find was 1-3/4". Second, I simply slipped this flex exhaust inside a standard piece of aluminum rain-gutter downspout, so I end up being able to duct the exhaust about 14 - 15' away. Works like a charm, but the pipes get pretty hot. Watch out if your just going to lay them on you lawn.

OK here's my trick. First, it is used on an 11HP gasoline tecumseh 6850 watt generator and the extension starts about 6 inches from the exhaust valve so it can take the heat. I used the electrical flex conduit, 1" conduit for like 75 cents a foot. I welded plumbing fittings to it so it must be aluminized steel. It is not 100% air tight but most all of the exhuast goes away. It can be clamped with a muffler clamp or maybe even a hose clamp if you slit the tube.

For your once a year use I would just use a big exhaust fan. I purchased one from home depot that moves a lot of air and sits on the floor. I bought it as a fire fan for something like 75$.

I store a 1972 bulldozer in a shipping container so I know all about smokey exhaust fumes. I just let the exhuast float away. I suppose the contamination of your house air would be a little less pleasing to the family.
