So even with the seat all the way back, I still felt cramped working the pedals. So a simple fix was to lift the seat mounting plate using 2" square tubing and some longer bolts. Worked perfectly! Seat will still move all the way forward so the smaller better half can still reach the controls. WOO-HOO !

For the mt125 owners, this also alleviates the seat hitting on the back of the fender metal when turning the seat to use the backhoe (no more finger pinching either). The bolts are M8 x 1.25 x 90mm to use with the 2" square stock.

Very nice. Sometimes its the simple things that work out best.

Very nice. Good job for a simple but very worthwhile project. That is my philosophy also... Buy a tractor and then make it yours. Make it fit your needs.

I may just do that. I ussually don't even think about going to the source about little "fixes" like this, you know, with all their engineers and such:confused2:

Great idea and for me on two fronts. While "leg room" is not an issue on my machine, the only scratches on my tractor are in that area behind the seat where I have attempted to turn the seat without lifting it first. But the real issue for me is if I slide the seat back to a comfortable position I'll get a cramp in my right calf from having to push on the pedals from that position, being comfortable sitting back puts my foot and ankle at an awkward angle and thus a cramp as I'm pushing on the pedals with my toe. If I sat higher with this modification I could be back further and have a more straight down push on the HST pedals and avoid the cramp. Love the creativity and simplicity of this idea. This will certainly solve my problem. Thanks!! :drink:

Hope it works out for you also. It truely makes a big difference. When I first thought of the idea, I just tried 2 - 2x4's flat (1 1/2") to try it out. Was ok, so went ahead with the 2x2 stock.
