OK, here is what i got. I found some Peterson 3x5 55w work lights, low profile, "502" , flood pattern at lowe's for 11.50 a piece.....which is really cheap compared to the same bulb at other places.
I found the exact switch that is in my tractor instrument panel at Bass Pro. I also found some square U-bolts that exactly fit around my ROPS. So far, so good. Then i bought a piece of steel, 1/4" thick, and put three holes in it. Two for the u-bolt to go through, and one out a hair further for the work lights to mount into, they 'hang' if you can picture that.
I just need to get some wire and a blade fuse, then wire it all up. I designed it this way in case the 3x5 flood lights didnt light adequately, if not, then i can undo everything and return it to the store, except for the steel of course.
Also, i dont have to drill my rops, which is great because i dont like to.
THe only thing im concerned with is that the lights are facing forward, but beneath the ROPS and forward, so techincally NOT directly under the ROPS. I am concerned that they may get snagged on trees. However, the design also allows me to turn the lights BACKWARD, should i need 110W of lighting bliss to the rear.
I hope the floods work better than the driving lights, those just didnt have a side enough beam, plus these Peterson's seem to be built much much better.
What do you guys think? Criticisms? I dont think its necessary to have a pair of 4x6 lights, just too big, so, hopefully, these will put out the light i need.
