OK, so i want to attach two lights to my ROPS that will be used essentially in place of the main headlights. The reason is that the main headlights and work lights, while fantastic, don't work so well when covered by the loader when its on the tractor. So, i want to add some up top that will light the way when im using the loader. I just tried some lights from wal mart, essentially driving lights, which dont work worth a flip. They are too 'spotty'. I have no idea what exactly it is in need. Basically, i dont want to pay a fortune for them, and i need less 'spot' and more 'flood'.

I just bought a set of "flood" tractor lights for my tractor from Auto Zone. They have basically the same light available in either flood or spot pattern. I have also seen them at Advance Auto and other places. Driving lights are no good for a tractor.

Did they come in a pair or were they just two singles?

WHo makes them?

I got a set of tractor aux lights and mounted them on my ROPS with a set of "L" brackets, they work great. I put the switch for them next to my factory rear aux light. I had the same problem when I was using the FEL moving snow this winter.

Where do you get L brackets?

A few words of advice. IMO, and it is my opinion. Do not screw, weld or in any way adjust the ROPS. Attaching lights is a great thing to do, just do not modify in any way your ROPS. Look through this website, there are tons of great ideas on ROPS lights. From magnets, to simple clamp brackets, to building a canopy (this would be very cool - hint).

As for lights, You are looking for clear fog lights or driving lights. If you can wait, the internet is way cheaper place to find / buy these.

but do search this forum. there are some brilliant ideas in here.

OK, here is what i got. I found some Peterson 3x5 55w work lights, low profile, "502" , flood pattern at lowe's for 11.50 a piece.....which is really cheap compared to the same bulb at other places.

I found the exact switch that is in my tractor instrument panel at Bass Pro. I also found some square U-bolts that exactly fit around my ROPS. So far, so good. Then i bought a piece of steel, 1/4" thick, and put three holes in it. Two for the u-bolt to go through, and one out a hair further for the work lights to mount into, they 'hang' if you can picture that.

I just need to get some wire and a blade fuse, then wire it all up. I designed it this way in case the 3x5 flood lights didnt light adequately, if not, then i can undo everything and return it to the store, except for the steel of course.

Also, i dont have to drill my rops, which is great because i dont like to.

THe only thing im concerned with is that the lights are facing forward, but beneath the ROPS and forward, so techincally NOT directly under the ROPS. I am concerned that they may get snagged on trees. However, the design also allows me to turn the lights BACKWARD, should i need 110W of lighting bliss to the rear.

I hope the floods work better than the driving lights, those just didnt have a side enough beam, plus these Peterson's seem to be built much much better.

What do you guys think? Criticisms? I dont think its necessary to have a pair of 4x6 lights, just too big, so, hopefully, these will put out the light i need.
