OK- So I bought a pair of EZ Hitch from another member who had bought a different tractor. Got a great deal on them and love how simple they are
. However, as others have noted, there still needs to be a way to set the distance on the lower arms. Some have used a board, others PVC pipe, and some have purchased the spreader from Carter and Sons. My solution was to make an adjustable spreader that would stay in place. I took a Cat 0 top link and 3/4" threaded rod that I already had, then ordered some additional 3/4" threaded rod and nuts with a left hand thread. I used about 16" of rod on either side and now have about 7" of adjustment out from there. It is set for Cat 1 spacing now, but will adjust out to fit my KK rotary cutter that has a 28 1/2" spacing. I can also loosen the inside nuts and get down to a Cat 0 if I need to.
Also pictured is my attempt at a receiver hitch for the drawbar; scrap angle and a cheap HF receiver tube. Works great to move the trailer around the property.
