Well, aluminum corrodes too. Salt will accelerate it just like w steel. But, it really depends on which alloy.
6063 is called an architectural alloy bec it's used outdoors on buildings and doesn't corrode easily. But buildings don't usually get salted. However, it's not as strong as other alloys.
6061 and 7075 are strong but not so corrosion resistant and also not avail in sheets.
5052 is corrosion resistant, avail in sheet form but not particularly dent resistant.
The auto body shops will need to be trained on repair procedures and buy new equip (TIG) to deal w this. This was always the deal breaker in the past. Not sure how Ford's dealing w this now.
