Tractor
Yanmar 1500D
For sale in AL, a gentleman has a Yanmar F-2500 Super Forte. My question is, does anyone have any experience or knowledge of this particular model? aout of the many places I have looked on the internet, only one has shown the F-2500 (available as a 2 wheel drive and as a F-2500D 4 wheele drive) and with very limited information. The name Super FORTE is a label on the front of this tractor. It looks as if a company in Canada perhaps sometime in the past has maybe refurbished and sold Yanmars with the name Super FORTE? This is just a guess on my part. Do these come with PS?

Any information or a point in the right direction would be appreciated. My current tractor is a Yanmar 1500D w/Bush Hog front end loader. A bear to steer with a load and the 5' finishing mower on the 3 point.

Thanks in advance.

The name Super Forte is applied by Yanmar. They also label some F's as just Forte. Power Steering is standard on the 4WD models. I don't know about the 2WD ones.

Are you sure it's a F-2500? I know there is a YM2500.

Thanks for the information. Now for my bad mistake on calling the tractor from AL a F-2500. The correct name on this tractor is F-255 Super FORTE. I now inderstand that the name Forte can come from Yanmar Japan! After contacting 3 different sources it appears that this tractor was msnufactured from the late 1980-until about 1992 or so. No supplier I can find has specific parts for this model and any model specific part that I would need would need to come from Japan. I have also been told that if there are gear problems, (i.e., broken teeth or gear set needed) to forget it for this model.

This tractor has been described as having a clicking in high gear and that the owner thought that a broken tooth on a gear was the problem. For me, if this means that should the gear need replacing, even if I could find one, I would need to seperate the tractor and perform the repairs myself. Or knowing the costs in my area to hire it done, getting a home loan to finance the project.

It looks like I'll stick to my 1550D without power steering. Sorry for the mislabling of this F-255 as a F-2500 tractor. Guess I'm getting older than I thought and it's much harder to force myself to sit at the keyboard and type.

Sorry for the bad information in my origional question. Tractor is a F-255. See my other message for an in depth reply on my concerns.. An additional factor for me was that manuals for this tractor in English are not available. Only Japanese. This is not good for me, I seem to only be fractionally articulate in English, but much more comfortable speaking Southernese.

Regard,
