Hey, you guys are great and this is a wonderful site: Just bought used 2005
F/P 2425 with koyker 160 fel under 60 hours :) according to dealer. (tach was shorted and they installed new one with 0 hours) but shows a mfg. date of 2004. It is a nice tractor and looks pretty good. Already cleared a lot. Changed oil, greased zerts etc, but i noticed some fuel around the bottom of the tank (both sides) around the support frame mounts.i cannot find the source of the leak. Anyone have any ideas?

Most of the leaks we've heard about from other members have been comming from the "make believe" gasket under the fuel tank sending unit.it's paper thin and the screws get loose.you can work with an offset screwdriver try tightening them or remove and make a "real" gasket. (Gasket material from Nappa) I know it's the top of the tank but fuel sloshes all over when using the machine. and for those of us who really fill the tank it almost runs out from under the gasket. Also add some gasket sealer to the screws.
Let us know!

That's what I was going to say Mark.
Not only that, while filling I've over-filled and it ran along the sides like that too.

Me too,
Diesel does not evaporate and collects dust..... and keeps things from rusting.

There has been a rubber gasket under the sending units on the new crates I have gotten in. I find them around one - two turns to loose.

I could see where a thin paper gasket being a problem. It needs some thing to squeeze for sure.

The fuel bowl/threads to tank will/can weep some moisture and collect dust.

If you have diesel fuel tear drops hanging ??? ..... better dial in to that one.

Speaking of little drops Ron,
I had a small leak develop on my fuel bowl. All it needed was the petcock to be tightened into the fuel bowl receptacle. Over 400 hours it loosened up enough to start a small drip.

Thanks for the input all. Did find some seepage (very small around sending unit. Was able to tighten and appeared to stop. We'll see. Had just filled tank when i 1st spotted it. Will keep a watchful eye on it.
