F/R shuttle issue on R4041EZ

I was formerly Dirt Pile, I have the 2011 R4041 EZ. So far I have 15 hours on it and it's working great. Tilled my 3 acres out front twice, moved a fair amount of dirt. No issues, well the dash went out on day one but I pulled the covers off and tugged and pushed the connections and that seems to have gone away. Today though, when done tilling, when shifting into forward it slipped/ didint engage all the way and had a hard time finally engaging. It did it a couple more times in the yard so I parked it. Read owners manual, saw that you can calibrate the transmission. Did that, which was kind of cool, but it didn't fix it. Could be the actuating solenoid?...or the gazzillwopper....who knows. Anyhow, a call to the dealer Monday, and we'll see what happens. It's still real pretty and shiny though!

I talked to the Dealer/mechanic yesterday, looks like a transmission adjustment was needed, electronicly....he ordered a scanner to take care of that, and the intermittent dash outage issue, he ordered a new cluster for that. That was probably harder to diagnose than the transmission. Should have it back for the weekend...I hope, miss my blue tractor.

Okay, update...tractor still in shop. They got the shuttle shift fixed and are waiting for a instrument cluster to come in from Korea. I hope they flew it and didnt stick it on a boat....Just kidding...they flew it. Not sure when it will get here. At least its rained here for the past week and I can't do any work for another week or so.

Well, about a month later, still waiting on a cluster from LS. Dealer is going to call tomorrow and see what's going on and try to locate it. The only plus is that it has been a wet year and work would be minimal, but it's drying out, and I may have him bring it back as is and fix the cluster on the 50hr service.

Dirt, Sorry to hear you are still waiting for the cluster. In this day and age it should go like this ; dealer orders part, part is located and shipped, part arrives at dealer within 24hrs from being shipped (yes, even from Korea). I think a month wait on a part is unacceptable and I hope this isn't ops normal with LS. Keep us posted.

This is why I am glad I have mechanical linkage to shift my tractor. Too much electronic stuff in our lives now. Dont get me wrong, I like electronics just not on my tractors. Have to live with the computer on my automobiles gas engines, but I want minimal amount of electrical components on my tractor. I wonder if the electrical connections on the dash are typical issues as my tach keeps going on and off. I did the same thing the other day, took off the side panel and did a wiring connection push. Mine seems to go off whenever I get some heavy vibration, like tire spin when using the loader that gets pretty violent if you dont stop pretty quick and usually results in tach stopping. Later it will start back working. Kind of waiting for something else to happen before going back to dealer on this.

I agree, not a fan of electronics and the excess wired pigtails all bundled up making it real difficult to diagnose intermittent electronic failures. Which is what mine was doing...it worked, then didnt....then I went thru and snugged up, worked again....then didnt, thus the replacement of the whole unit. Going to wait and see.

Well, I have my tractor back today. Dealer delivered it this evening. The f/r solenoid sheared a pin thus the non engagement of forward. The cluster now reads .4 hours, I lost 15 hrs and have a new tractor once again.
