HI,
Been lurking here for a while and just bought a F22D and have a question about the Temp gauge. I have ran the tractor doing oader work and Box Blading but cannot get the Temp gauge to move more than a 1/8" , it just stays in the cold zone. Is this normal or could the sending unit be bad? Thanks

This time of year my yanmars run very cool also, the temp gauges hardly move at all.
Wait until hot summer and you're working it hard, then see.

Most people worry if the gauge goes the other way.:D

Kind of sounds like my old Super A International. In the winter the temp gauge barely moves. What's the temp where you are? If it's really cold it may be normal.

Put a piece of cardboard in front of the radiator, then you will know. Yanmars typically run cool when they are right. Mine barely gets off the 1/4 mark in the hottest weather.

Guess Im just a new worried/paranoid :( tractor owner, thanks guys. The gauge moves just very very little so I guess it works. The temp here is around the 50's, I was just worried that my temp was bad and wouldnt show me an overtemp. Thanks again guys, looks like its normal according to you all.:D

Well I just didnt feel confident alone to leave it alone so I dug in further and found the cable fron the temp sensor disconnected and also the cable from the antifreeze reservoir too low sensor was dissconnected also. Plugged in the temp sensor cable and what do you know! the tractor heated up about 1/4 from the cold mark. When I plugged in the reservoir too low sensor I got a light on the dash that showed reservoir was empty even though it was full. I took the reservoir off and removed sensor. Its a simple circuit just a magnet float that moves up and down with water level on a plastic post with a metal core. Appears that previous owner (JAPANESE) used water and coroded the magnet and not letting it complete the circuit. I cleaned the little magnet float with a brillow pad and now it works! :D . Might want to try this out guys if your reservoir sensor is not working!. Now I just need to figure out why my glow plug light doesnt come on when I turn my key to the left.
