Thanks Kenmac, good advice but a little late. My dealer did supply me with manuals for the attachments I brought, a 4ft brushhog, FEL, landscape rake & posthole digger, and showed me how to operate. He did not have a manual or carry parts, so I'm out looking for sources.

Hope tractor Ernie sees your post as he can help. Ernie has I believe 3 of this series tractors for his personal use. These are newer models. Not sure how much different than my model but do know the UFO is a lot more advanced.

Know for my model Ernis says only one part is a little hard to come by. So far I've needed nothing.

If Ernie doesn't respond, here is his web site. Used compact tractors, Japanese tractors and farm tractors

His advice is offered less than three hours after you ask for "suggestions or comments on this model". How is that late?

Mabe he means it's too late as in he already bought the tractor b 4 he ask the question

You got it right. I wish I knew of this group b4 I bought, but I thought I was alone. In fact I had research out the 2210D, but I decided on the F235D that I saw on the dealer's lot. It seemed to be newer and stronger than the YM2210, so I decided to take a chance with it. It WAS a Yanmar, how could I go wrong. Semper Fi

I don't think you went wrong with the yanmar brand. I think you should have bought from a dealer that could support the tractor with parts, if that mod. can be supported with parts at all  . You mabe able to get some parts ,but I'am sure parts will be limited for that mod. As far as parts you would have had better luck with the 2210 ,but I wouldn't have bought the 2210 from him if he couldn't supply parts for it either..Good luck

Welcome V.V. Harry,

I wouldn't feel abandoned for buying a newer model Yanmar, we're just a little in the dark with the F235D model. In fact you're in a unique position to provide members with an informal "Tractor and Implement Review"...and attached pictures are always helpfull.

Can you tell us about the tractor and dealer? Is your tractor used or reconditioned? And since your taking delivery does your dealer provide a warranty, service or repair procedures? Many members (here) have taken delivery and are on their own regarding maintenance and acquiring parts...is this the case with you?

Fairly certain that someone on the forum has a close or identical model....we just need to make the match with a little more information. Good Luck with your new package.....

Mark

VH, don't worry about the model, and lack of comments here. Most have the older models (Y series) and there is just more info. Parts will not be a problem unless something major (motor or xmisser) break. Even then, most parts will be available just, may be, a little slower to get. Enjoy it! You made an excellent decision.

I'm sure I am missing something, but I can't see any advantage to buying a tractor only from a dealer who can supply parts.

Thanks Mark,

The dealer I bought from was Rinehart Tractors, Salley, SC. John is retired Navy (I can't hold that against him, Semper Fi) and grew up on a farm, so he seemed very knowledgeable about tractors and operations. He's also a Montana dealer, but overall prefers the Yanmars. He offers a 90 day warranty and he told me to work the tractor hard, which, with what I have to do, will not be difficult. He advised that the F235D was reconditioned and it looked good and ran smoothly. He packages his tractors with 3 implements and a 4 wheel trailer and delivers at no charge within SC. I didn't ask about service since he is 2 hours from me. I'm pretty handy and hope I won't get myself in any trouble, which is why I'm looking for manuals.

As soon as I get some time under my belt, or on the seat, I'll be happy to post a review.

Harry

And some pics, please! :D

Welcome to TBN!

I bought my Yanny 1602D with absolutely no knowledge of tractors what so ever, just on the say so of a friend who owns one. I've had it for over 3 years now and outside of some regular maint, it's been perfect! I don't work mine as hard as some, but when I do it does everything I ask of it and more. I think you'll be very happy with your Yanny!

If you can't get parts for that mod. tractor or don't know if or what parts are avaible for that mod tractor. Then where is he going to get parts ? If you buy from a dealer that carries parts, you don't have to call around every where trying to find parts , you just call your dealer & say send me #### part. That seems easier to me than trying to locate someone that may have a part .They say that ernie may have some parts , but if he's limited on those parts . I'am sure that he would want to keep them for his tractor customers .Don't get me wrong here, I wish him well .I think that he has a very nice tractor . I would love to trade my 3110D for an F mod. I just hope that he can get parts when he needs them.

Hi Harry

The F235 is my favorite I use mine all the time, except when its 23 outside for the last 3 days (burrr)

If you need a roll bar for it, you can find one at Hoye tractor
Aaron can ship you one real fast, and they are quite easy to mount.

I do have a lot of parts for your machine in stock here (used) of course.

My only real advise is to be careful shifting it, dont jam the gears from 1st to reverse, if you break the ring & pinion gears it takes a while to get them from Japan. The US. supplier is out of stock also for the moment.

If you have any other questions feel free to call us anytime.
Used Yanmar tractors, New Mahindra tractors, New Branson Tractors from Ernie's Imports inc

Thanks Ernie, I have you bookmarked!:) I will watch the shifting, thanks.

What can you tell me about manuals for the F235D? I believe Hoye has told me they can get a parts manual. Can I get them from you?

Harry, Im not in the manual selling business, but Hoye tractor is:D

You can get a roll bar (highly recommended) from either Hoye or Wayne at little Miami tractor, both are great yanmar dealers:)
