Oil & Fuel F2400_Oil seems excessive on mower deck.Is that normal after dealer servicing?

Hi members. My late husband used to run the mower (Kubota F2400) and wasn't really fussy about maintaining it.

I sent it out for dealer servicing over the winter and after it came back I didn't really eyeball the machine because I expected the dealer serviced everything according to spec.

Since I've started to use it, I see what looks like a lot of oil on top of the mower deck (the cover for the belts is off), and there is an oil spot on the garage floor that looks like it's growing. The mower deck used to have a little bit of gunky grease on it but this stuff is thinner, like motor oil.

Is it normal to have oil on the deck? Am I supposed to check it somehow?

Several possibilities.
Could be gear lube spilled out during draining or filling the gear box, or the gear box seals may be leaking. I suspect the later.

FYI, replacing a gear box is expensive. Running with low (or no) lube will destroy it in short order.

As far as checking, there is usually a fill plug and a check plug. They are generally filled with the check plug bolt removed, and when oil begins to seep out the level is correct.
