Have you found a way to adjust the middle seat forward any? ....
I don't think it's adjustable. I'll check the truck and the owner's manual and let you know. You might be needing yourself a crewcab for a few years.:D

For Patrick and Bob Here are pictures of my truck, including an interior shot. ... I had captain's chairs in my '88 F250 Supercab, and this bench, with the center armrest/console down, feels just as comfortable, plus the occasional benefit of seating 3 when needed.

Jerry, Thanks so much for the pix. Looks neat. I never had any SRW 1 Ton (carried big campers and wanted redundancy in the tires) but would certainly consider one now, if I were looking for another one ton.

I had captain's chairs (raise/lower arms on both sides) in my '84 F-250 diesel and thought seating without them would be inferior. Well, my '97 Dodge/Cummins dually one ton and the '08 F-250 PSD both have the optional 3 person seating front seats with large fold down seatback/console. They are both just fine in the comfort department as you have noticed yours to be.

The third person in the middle needs to not be too large in stature and not nervous about their knees and shins with that floor shift lever. Both of my diesels are automatic but with the 4WD levers there is still some clearance issues for FULL SIZED folks if "stuck in the middle again."

Thanks again for the snapshots.

Pat

It's nice to see Yankeerider has a stick shift! I rarely see standard cab super duty's anymore, let alone dolled up ones.

That is because Ford doesn't have any room behind the seat for storage. If you want any storage you "have" to buy a Supercab version. I haven't checked the current F-150's but hopefully they didn't make their rear storage any smaller.

The supercabs are great for storage as well as giving you the option for taking a fourth or fifth person along (even a sixth if they are kids).

I figure once she is older then it won't be an issue but right now she is only 3 and if you put her behind the driver or passenger side seat she is more vulnerable in a side impact accident and from her perspective, she can't see anything. The side windows are very small and she can't see thru the front seat so she doesn't like sitting there. When we bought this truck (we call it Ava's since it hauls her around mostly) we didn't want a Crew cab as we need the long box and this area isn't like Texas and other places where they are use to big trucks. Our parking lots are tiny. I went to my doctors in this truck and it was a lot of fun trying to park in the medical complex parking lot that was designed for looks more then fuction:rolleyes: I would not want to drive this truck very many places if it was a crew cab and I had to go into the towns or city (which is usually where I go when I have Ava:( )

Who knows, maybe our next truck will be a Crew Cab but we want to replace the F-150 next and the last I knew you can't get a 8' box on the F-150 Super Crew.

After having a standard cab in my first pickup, which was an 1983 S-10 pickup (the Vega Incarnate), I made sure my F-250 was at least a Super Cab. I'm glad I have the extra cab space for covered junk storage. Sometimes I wish I had a crew cab for more junk storage.

Our main F-250 we use for construction has a crossover tool box to carry a lot of tools. We use the back of the Supercab for all of the DeWalt Cordless tools as well as my work belt, screws, trowels, socket sets and just about anything else you can think of. The cordless tools take up most of one side as we stack them together so they are easy to access instead of having to go to both sides. This truck is a rolling tool box but we still never have that one tool we are looking for:(

The other F-250 Supercab is used mainly for hauling my daughter but also for hauling material (no tool box which leaves a lot of room in the bed) as well as hauls hay and pulls my equipment and hay wagons to customers. So the only tools it usually has in it are a bunch of straps for securing cargo and two drop pins.

Bob,

According to my tach--1750 at 55 mph. about 2800 at 90mph.

I ordered my truck and got the discounts I mentioned earlier. Since I like a stick on don't like all the gadgets, I always have to order.

The single cabs are my favorite, but have had the extended cabs the last three trucks. Sure nice to have the extra dry space for power tools, clothes etc.

So far I am really sold on the V-10. I have a Crown Vic for when I don't need a truck, so the fuel is really not an issue.

Have a good new year.

FWIW... My 2008 Super Dude F-250 PSD 4x4 short bed crew with automatic indicates 1750 RPM at an indicated 65 MPH and 1500 RPM at 55MPH. This is within my ability to read the dials and drive and the accuracy of the instruments.

My best ever mileage was 16.0 and I have never repeated that. Averaged over a tank I always get within the range of 10.x to 12 or 14 depending on all economy influencing factors and the phase of the moon. I have gone a bit over 2000 miles now and am hopeful that further break in will give better mileage. I used to hope to win the lottery but didn't buy tickets. I think both the lottery winning and increased mileage are about equally likely.

Yesterday a few minutes after firing it up while cruising at about 60-65 MPH at about 30F ambient, for a while left quite a visible smoke trail for several hundred yards. Maybe one of the knowledgeable folks can explain it to me. I assume it is a result of the self doctoring system that is doing some kind of respiratory therapy on the emission system.
