F3990 Front Deck Guard Issue

Not sure what happened but the metal guard on the PTO to gearbox is tweaked on my deck. Not really sure how it happened. I flipped the deck up a few weeks back but I don't remember seeing it until after I got done cutting this weekend.

I'll straighten out the sheet metal tomorrow night....just an annoying thing to fix.

Anyone else have this issue?

A bit late on my part, but I've tipped my deck up several times to swap blades out and there has been no issue with the cover. Did notice after re-reading the manual that it says to disconnect the drive shaft before tipping it up.

Just rotate the shaft so it hinges 'right' before tilting the deck....it's what I do on F3680 and have no issues doing it that way.

I've tilted mine up without removing drive shaft and then came back some years later and tried to lift deck and it wouldn't lift until I removed shaft. Guess it was aligned to allow raising the first times and then wasn't aligned and I had brain freeze and kept thinking I knew I had raised it without removing the drive shaft but finally figured I must have been thinking of a different machine or was dreaming or just forgot that I had removed it. Later I remembered that I just needed to turn the drive shaft, after removing it. :confused3:

It's looks like whoever wrote the manual was being very cautious and making sure they cannot be blamed if someone accidentally hit the PTO switch engine running, while the deck was tilted up and PTO shaft was still connected...
