I have a 2014 F3990. Love it, no issues.
It came with the side discharge deck, but I didn't buy it new, so I can't really fix that. My grass grows quick and is usually tall when I cut it, so I am hesitant to put on a mulching kit. I often go a few weeks between cuts out here in the country.
Handles my hills like a billy goat.
