Since our son's deployment has been extended, and he won't be making back to be the best man at his best friends wedding next month.

He will most likely be giving a "best man speech", but it will be via FaceTime remotely.

I have a iPhone 14 and my wife has the next one up at a 15 I believe.

Is there anyway that you can use FaceTime on a TV where the recipient of the FaceTime call can put it on a larger TV screen so the group can see and hear the caller?

My son is generally our tech guy when it comes to phones and rental cars, and he said perhaps using a HDMI cable to a TV, but he thinks he won't be able to see people but they should be able to see him. We need a new TV and the house that's being remodeled, so I was wondering perhaps an Apple TV, but not certain if that would be worth the money? (I would think if you could facetime on a TV, it would be a apple TV LOL).

Yes. I'm not sure of the details with Apple, but I can push my Samsung image to a TV screen.

It's called Smartview for me.

Lots of ways. Helps if you have a smart tv and a Wi-Fi network. Chrome cast works. HDMI cable should work. Google should help you find options and instructions.

Thanks, I'll need to do some studying. My hope is the wedding venue will have something prepared for something like this, but I know I can borrow our churches TV we use for kid's lessons and it's a smart TV apparently. Long story, but I'm in charge of this to make this happen LOL

Look on your Iphone for 'screen mirroring' That's what I use.

Not familiar with smartphones, but wouldn't Skype/Zoom, etc. work? This way you could connect a laptop to a large screen. Probably a lot easier to set up.

You need to look at the TV in the venue to see what cable you need to have and also set the TV input to match where you plugged the cable. I'd suggest getting the specific model number of the TV and downloading the user manual beforehand. Also, test it well before the event so you still have time to make corrections if something isn't working right.

If you have a smart TV you should have no problems. Just make sure the TV and the iphone are on the same wifi network.

Here's a quick video that shows how to do it. Practice a few times at home and make sure the venue has a smart TV on a wifi network that you can join with your phone.
