I almost need a bigger tractor just because I can't get on it without my 4 year old boy and 5 month old black lab jumping on the platform with me. I'm not really sure if I've ever had the whole platform to myself. At least one of them was there.

Already know the next one will be another boy. So the platform will be cramped.

A funny side story... my black lab likes riding so much that any time the tractor is out of the shed he is on it. I used the FEL and some bungies to take the garbage cans to the end of the driveway and he was on there. I learned a valuable lesson to turn the tractor off. While I was unstrapping the garbage cans, my dog just about ran me over with the tractor. It truly just about snagged me because I was in between the front tire and the FEL.

Glad I didn't post that in the safety section. The tractor safety police would confiscate my keys for 90 days.

getut, I have R4 IND tires. I'll put my 4' brush cutter on, load the bucket with dirt and give it a try. I, too, have the 54" bucket, and as you say, it's hard to have the same amount in our buckets, but it should give an idea of what can be done if I try to fill it up and go. The boards that I ran over were 2x6 lying flat on the ground, but I'm not sure if I was right on them, on a little back from them. I'll try putting the tires right up against the boards and see how it does, and also from a little further back.
I was able, in high range, to drive up the bank from the creek with a full load of composted leaves. It was obvious that low range would have been better, but I did get up the bank. I'll let you know the results as soon as I'm able to perform the test. Hopefully, I can do it tomorrow. John

Yep those tractor cops can be rough /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif I will take youngins on the tractor with me during relatively safe excursions. But only if they are well behaved and I know them and the parents well. Relatives did this for me when I was younger, after all how are they to learn the dangers of and how to operate tractors. I don't think the keep them isolated and then when 16 turn them loose on a piece of machinery is a good way to have an accident. Knowing a piece of equipment is a good way to help prevent accidents. Teach your children what is dangerous about a piece of machinery not just that it is dangerous and stay away! Of course they do have to be old enough to listen, but then some of us never seem to get that old /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
