I got a quote from my local dealer on a 4210 4wd with the 420 FEL & 61" bucket.

4210 Sync Shift tranny, R4's, remotes : $13,155

4210 eHydro tranny, R4's, remotes : $15,575

420 FEL w/61" bucket : $2,595

so total before tax would be $15,750 with sync shift and $18,170 with eHydro.

I tried to build and price this on JD site but found it to be a big pain to figure out. I'd rather get a 4115 for engine size and price, but the chassis is just way to small for me.

Re: Fair 4210 FEL price?

That pricing is similar to what I paid for a 4310. equipped with R1's but 430 loader.

Are you locked into your dealer? I got my price by emailing area dealers using Deere's locator. I went out of state (although the distance is just as close) and saved the tax.

But, your pricing is still good...

LOVE the eHydro!!!!

So they should have a little more room to play in price then? I'm not dead set on the dealer. It's just a couple miles from here. I emailed another dealer that's farther away, haven't received a response yet. How'd you manage to save the tax on it?

Re: Fair 4210 FEL price?

I saved tax because I am close enough to the border, that i could conveniently buy out of state. I don't suggest going a long way, but in my case they were just as close...

Tractor dealers might be a little slow using email, you might want to fax, especially during their busy time. But nothing beats showing up. You might even tell your close dealer that you are ready to buy, and had heard lower prices, or just ask for their best.

lotsa luck

Re: Fair 4210 FEL price?

Mike,

I wouldn't say you saved the tax yet. By law of just about every state I am aware of a major purchase like that cross borders you will still have to pay the sales tax of your state. This was discussed in great lenghts in another thread and that was pretty much the concensus. In fact one guy thought he did get away from the sales tax but a year later he got the bill from the state he was residing in and had to pay the sales tax. Whether they catch up with you or not is to be determined yet. I wished I could find that thread for you.

I purchased a 4210 Ehydro with 420 FEL about 6 weeks ago for about 16,500 at my local dealer. I think there was $1500 rebated on this tractor at that time. Good luck!

Re: Fair 4210 FEL price?

ooPS! Thanks murph! I checked on that with my cpa before buying. I actually qualify tax exempt for the tractor in my state, so it was ok. The Missouri dealer verified that I met the requirement as well.

OK sales tax is ONLY ~10%, so who wouldn't want to pay it...

Re: Fair 4210 FEL price?

You guys have 10%?? Wow I thought 6.5% was rough.

Another questions just for my own knowledge is what qualifications are there for getting out of the sales tax. Them qualifications should also be available in your own state also??

Just for my wisdow banks, which usually is more has gone out than what I can keep in it.

Re: Fair 4210 FEL price?

20 (24?) acres is the point where you can qualify as a farm and the MO dealer was verifiing my status in OK, not MO.

My property tax is about $330, but the sales tax a killer

Re: Fair 4210 FEL price?

Thanks Mike,

I appreciate that information. Not that I would use it anytime soon but you never know. I actually would like over 24 acres some day.
