I recently received a quote of $17050 for a 2615 w/ ML106 FEL and 72" MMM. Can anyone tell me if this is a good price?

If you have not done so already, check out the post I put up just the other day (C35 & 4500 quotes w/wo fel). I got these quotes last thursday from a dealer near me. The quotes I got were just a bit lower for a little more tractor then what you posted on your dealers quote for the 2615. Hope this helps. I'm new to all of this too and I am looking to buy my first tractor hopefully in april.

I recently recieved a price on a 2615 HST with FEL of $14,300 from a dealer near Syracuse, NY. I didn't ask about the MMM. I also got a price of $16,200 for a 3015 HST with FEL.

Prices in the northeast are usually a little higher than elsewhere.

Sounds like you need to hook a trailer on a truck and come down to Houston (Cut-N-Shoot actually). I just ordered and put a deposit on a 2615, 72"MMM and FEL for $14700. 60"MMM was $200 less.

The hook the trailer up part is somewhat in gest. It cost me at least $0.10 a mile to fuel my truck. I can get near 15mpg at $1.50 a gallon thats $0.10 a mile

Heck, for far less than the $2250 difference you can have a trucking co ship it to you. I bet in the $1000 range or less. Maybe your dealer just left some negotiation room.

If you are interested in talking to my dealer/salesmen, shoot me an email. I am sure he would be glad to talk to a potential customer. clallen@ev1.net

Charlie,

Your quote is less than dealer invoice. I'm not sure why a dealer would quote that, unless perhaps he is trying to drive a competitor out of business?? Or it is a mistake. It certainly doesn't reflect the typical price of a dealer that wishes to stay in business. Slim margins with high volume can work, but no margin just doesn't pass the smell test. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

In either event, buy 'em up while you have a chance, it's a bargain on a great tractor!

If I look in the wrong coulomb on my dealer spreadsheet I can see where he might make that mistake :). I did the same thing once and had to honor the price. The real problem was all his buddies that came in and wanted the same price........

Seems like the absolute lowest price right down to the last penny is more important than a price you feel good about from a dealer you are comfortable with.

Dave, I don't know if he is or isn't selling under 'invoice'. I also don't know if the tractor world is like the auto world and 'invoice' has nothing to do with the dealers actual cost. I have been to Bill's Tractors, from San Antonio, site. They advertise a down payment, monthly payment and terms on a 2615 with FEL. It is not hard to go from there to a price. It comes in around $14k. Add a MMM and it should be just a few hundred more than I am paying.

EFC, price was a issue for me but not the only one. Want some insite to my thoughts? Tractor requirements, 20hp class, FEL, MMM, 4 wheel drive, hydro. Uses, replace my current 8N and 22hp MTD, maintain my 7 acres.

First I had to like the tractor. The ladder type frame of the JD2210, JD4010, KubB series was not impressive, though they were good for mowing. The FEL performance was less than I had hoped for. I liked the traditional cast iron frame of the 15 series Mahindra and the CK20H Kioti.

Next I had to like the dealership. The JD was someone I (and family) had done business with before and likely will again. The Kubota was as nice. The Kioti dealer was ok but over 50 miles away. The first Mahindra dealer I was willing to do business. The last Mahindra dealership (and the one I chose) had some draw backs (mostly unpaved parking) but were nice people. The owner was usually there, he answered the phone a few times I called. He stayed late so I could drive the equipment around. The machanic was freindly and spoke english (that is getting rare here). The parts counter was well manned with knowlegable people. And they had a good supply of parts.

And last was price. All prices were with FEL and MMM. The Dealer and his 2015 was over $800 less than anyone else, local.

After I desided on that unit I came into some money (I overpayed the IRS far more than usual). I desided to get the 26hp unit. He quoted me a price less than I had gotten on the 20 hp 4110.

So EFC, you can call it me squizing every last penny if you want. I call it educating myself with the needed info to make an intelegent desision.

I wasn’t saying anything towards you Charlie. I am a consumer just like you and support a low price just like the next guy. Glad you found a good price and a dealer you can do business with. But if you read through the Mahindra board the most common question is "is this a good price?". I weed through 3 to 4 calls a day from customers in states at least 2000 miles away wanting a price on tractor. The most common are Florida, New York and Texas. If they could save $300 and drive 1000 miles to pick it up that seems to make sense. I don’t sell outside the Pacific Northwest so I politely say I can’t help them and move on. Different parts of the country have different prices for reasons beyond a low volume or greedy dealer. It is more expensive to run a dealership in Washington State for example compared to Idaho. Not having to drive two states away to get work done on your tractor might be worth the $$ the local dealer is charging vs someone halfway across the country. If the dealer is a crook or con artist don’t support him but a decent dealer with a reasonable price is good to have just down the road. Clundog asked if he was getting a fair price on a 2615. If you put no value in the dealer then the answer is easy. But if the dealer has a local # and can get you parts on a Sunday afternoon in an emergency how much is that worth? Remember tractors only break down when the concrete truck is in sight. Good luck with your tractor Charlie it is a great model.
