Howdy Y'all;

One of my local tractor dealers has a 1972 Ford 5000 with a NH loader on it. I have not gone over and looked at it in person, but plan to this week. Is $8500 a fair price?
From what I have heard these are pretty good tractors, but is there anything in particular that I need to look for?

yes if the tractor is in fair shape and what model loader would make a difference also but i believe it is a good price

It'll need to be in incredible condition with a VERY nice loader to bring that sort of price in my neighborhood. Average to good shape, with a nice loader, more like $6000 to $6500 here.

Good tractors though....

That seems a bit high. I agree with Farmwithjunk, Around $6000 here.

One sold here a couple weeks ago for 5500.00 He had it listed at 7K "firm" for months. I went and looked at it a couple of months ago. It was in excellent condition as was the loader.

I might have paid what it eventually sold for but was thinking more around 5K

The area you shop has a great bearing on what one is worth... This area is Kubota/Deere territory. Those seem to command pretty good used prices if in good shape. Everything else is slow to sell unless it's a bargain basement price. Chinese tractors have to about be given away..

the tractor by itself is about a 5000$ in good shape.. I think they are asking a bit much.. i'd max out at 7500$ if it wasa good ford and a brand new loader. with both used and good.. 6500$ max usually.. here anyway..
