I have considered selling my 2320 as the itch to get a new tractor is starting to occur again. I would appreciate some expert insight/opinion into what a 100 hour, always garaged when not in use 2320 with a 2048 BB(Frontier), 54 D mower deck, I match, and 200cx FEL would likely bring. I really like the little tractor and may not sell it, but though I do not need a tractor all that often, when I do I could use a little bigger machine right now. My dealer says he could not give me more than $10500 for it with the attachments on trade since they are running 0% on many of these same machines right now and he also feels many of the prices on Machine Finder are inflated to "dealer marked"--and whomever would buy mine would have to have cash ready to do so--making the zero percent more appealing. I have thought if I could get 12,000-13,000 out of it with the above attachments I would be doing well. I also am not keen on widely marketing on EBAY, Craig's List, etc., to people I do not know well and would want to price it where people who know the machine think the price is fair. My starting point is to survey my fellow John Derrians and see what they think before deciding fully.

John, thank you for alleviating any "guilty feelings" that I have whenever I get the "itch" for a new tractor!! :D

I am reassured that I'm not "alone"...

Unfortunately, I'm not a good resource to give you a basis for "fair market value" of your 2320. Don't have a good idea of dealer discounts for the smaller frame tractors versus the 4000 and 5000 machines.

And that's really at the heart of your pricing decision... with 0% financing and dealer discounts below MSRP -- how much will you have to discount your tractor to be competitive enough that buyer's will give you a good lookover.

Boy I hate it when that happens:D
I, like AKfish, cannot give any opinion. I would probably just go to the dealer and trade it.

The dealer is going to be your best option. 10.5 sounds pretty good to me. I was considering trading in my 3120 (2008 w/ 300x and RB1084 - only about 150 hours at the time) a couple months back and I think they offered $11000.

What size of tractor are you looking to get? 3x20, 4x20?

John M,

Honestly, sell it yourself and pocket the $2K. That's a lot of money in my book. Yes, you've got to show the tractor by listing it on Craigs, but it isn't THAT bad and you can do pre-screening via the initial phone call.

It'll sell. Your hopes of $12-13K sound dead on to me. I'd give it through March, and then well, do what you gotta do, but I believe it will sell long before that.

Here's a thread where a fellow TBN just picked up a comparable machine in orange and we all agreed he stole it at $12K. Craigs cost you nothing. Wouldn't you love a buyer just like our friend in this post?

another thing to consider when trading in to the dealer is that there is no tax on the amount of the trade in.

Sometimes people miss this little fact.
