Fair Price on used 2320

I have considered selling my 2320 as the itch to get a new tractor is starting to occur again. I would appreciate some expert insight/opinion into what a 100 hour, always garaged when not in use 2320 with a 2048 BB(Frontier), 54 D mower deck, I match, and 200cx FEL would likely bring. I really like the little tractor and may not sell it, but though I do not need a tractor all that often, when I do I could use a little bigger machine right now. My dealer says he could not give me more than $10500 for it with the attachments on trade since they are running 0% on many of these same machines right now and he also feels many of the prices on Machine Finder are inflated to "dealer marked"--and whomever would buy mine would have to have cash ready to do so--making the zero percent more appealing. I have thought if I could get 12,000-13,000 out of it with the above attachments I would be doing well. I also am not keen on widely marketing on EBAY, Craig's List, etc., to people I do not know well and would want to price it where people who know the machine think the price is fair. My starting point is to survey my fellow John Derrians and see what they think before deciding fully.

IIUC your $10,500 trade in will reduce your new tractor 7% NC sales tax -$735 so really the offer is worth $11,235. Of course I expect your dealer will stick a $12,500 sale sticker on your 2320, when it is out on their lot.

I've been where you are twice before... both times, I just stuck in on craigslist at a price between the trade and "what everyone else tells you that you should ask." I was non-negotiable on the price.

So, if I were in your shoes, I'd put it out there for $11,500, non-negotiable. I bet it'd sell within a week.

Thanks, guys. I appreciate the insight. My leaning right now is to privately sell the machine, and I can certainly wait a while until a good buyer comes along. My friend at the dealership has always treated me right, but I really feel he is too low on his trade allowance, especially since over the years I have bought no fewer than 10 tractors and seven Gators. This does not count the number of blowers, saws, line trimmers, etc., I have bought and felt like he could have done some better this time. My experience has been that when I have traded in something at the dealership, it has sold quickly once they had it and that the trade value was close to my perceived value of the machine. In this case, the numbers were a bit more off between my expectation and the actual offer. The fact that my machines typically move very fast indicates in part to me that they are desirable and likely were aggressively priced for their condition (a reflection to me that even when I thought the trade was good, it likely was not all that good). I have been lucky over the years that when selling something privately, I have sold it to good folks, many of whom I have known personally, for a fair price. Those that I have not known have also been good and I have been again--lucky on this. With our economy as it is, it seems to me that not as many people right now have expendable income for purchases like this and for this reason I was initially reluctant to sell privately this time, but am getting over it. I have not made a final decision yet, but as noted am leaning toward either keeping the machine or selling it privately, the latter being more likely. I would like to get back into either a 2720 or a 3000 series machine, but have found the 2320 more than adequate for my current tasks when its limitations are taken into account.

I just priced a new 2320, cx200 and 62 deck. $ 18,500 and some change,,near as I can figure with all the programs, etc. Wish you were closer I would sure take a look. If the dealer would trade my Kubota ZD 326 I probably would have bought it even though the price seems a little high to me.
