My husband and I are thinking of buying a new Kubota L3200 and have an old Kubota B7200 HST 4WD with belly mower to either sell outright or trade.
The tractor works great and only has 775 hours on it but being such an old tractor has a few cosmetic issues (needs a new seat and tires) The only thing wrong with it is it has started to leak some fluid from -not sure what it is really called but my husband said it has to do with the 4WD.

The dealer has offered us $2800.00 for trade. That is appealing because then we don't have to worry about doing anything to the tractor.
Do you think that is a fair trade in price?
What do you think a fair sale price is if we decide to sell it ourselves? Should we fix it up to sell?

I just sold my 1985 B7200 HST with a FEL and 2100 hours for $5500. It was in excellent condition with just the normal scratches and dents. I was asking 6500 but gave a friend a little break. One dealer offered me 1700 and said maybe a bit more after he checked it over and saw the loader. I think I did better selling it myself.

Thanks for the replies! I actually just thought I would post it on Craigslist yesterday and just see what happened. I listed it for $3900.00 and we sold it for $3500.00 on the same day. (I would have held out for $3600.00 but my husband is a softie!) I think we did pretty good considering we bought it two years ago for $4000.00. Two years of use for $500.00 is not too shabby:thumbsup:

Congratulations! Not shabby at all for two years of use.
It's not uncommon to use a tractor and get a large portion of the money back if one takes care of it and shops for a good deal and sells for a reasonable price.
I see you are also getting a replacement for a good price. Keep it ten years and you'll get, probably, about the same or less per year cost.
