Fall Foliage in Western NY

Good Evenin John,
Those are some beautiful shots !!! But like you say when the leaves go watch out ! ;) Actually we could get some wet snow on tuesday, and I believe you could get some also ! :)

I live in upstate ny and my leaves are just about gone. Last week they were all beautiful orange and reds.
It is gonna get cold tonight had to start the wood stove. Wasnt planning on starting until at least november.
Calling for rain tuesday and cold temps tuesday night and wednesday so I would think snow would be out of the questions.

I think the cold stuff is coming quick. Amazing how fast the seasons change. It is really nice to experience the 4 seasons though. Especially in the fall with all the colors and after a newly fallen snow in the winter without a footprint or mark in the landscape. Those are the sights to behold!!

I agree. I really don't understand why anyone would want to live anywhere else. Four seasons, no hurricanes, tornadoes are extremely rare. Best summers anywhere and when it snows like crazy... well, for the most part, the houses are still standing. With a little luck you can get stranded at home and relax by the wood stove for a day or two.

Probably too late now Steve.

Spent a couple of days at the lake cutting firewood and making a stone planter by the lake instead.:D

Beautiful pictures! I lived in Syracuse, NY for 8 years and I miss the brilliant fall colors of upstate new york. I don't miss the winter weather as much though. Thanks for posting them. - Mike

I don't know of anyone who lived in Syracuse (or north of there) who misses the winter.

Can you say "lake effect snow"?

I just wonder if the Nedrows still burn cars off their exit in protest of whatever they always seemed to be protesting about:rolleyes:

Don't want to hi jack but had to respond to Sigarms.
I Haven't seen any cars burning lately just tires, they make more smoke. They are about due to protest something again. The state wants them to pay taxes on the cigs they sell to non Indians. And yes I'm in the snow belt 20 mi. north of Syr. That's why I have a tractor w/ loader and 4x4 vehicles for winter use.
