Farm pro 2420 hydraulic system question

have a 2420 farm pro. hyds. don't work, pulled the pump and there isn't any seal between pump and mt. is this why it doesn't work

There's no flow in the drive housing, so no need for a gasket or seal. Inspect the drive tang on the pump shaft and the center slot in the drive gear. One or both may have rounded out.

drive gear is rounded, should both be replaced, need a little guidance.
