Hey Guys,

This Monday coming there is a local auction that I plan on attending and they have a Farm Pro 2420 on there, don't know the year, all I know is the picture I saw of it, looks like a fairly new model, also says it is 4wd with 62 hours.

I was thinking of bidding on it to go with my 354 as another toy, I mean tool!!! Anybody have any info on these, such as engine type, from what I can tell they have 2 cyl (hard to get parts) and 3 cyl. What about availablility of parts etc.

I most likely won't buy it because I am expecting it to go quite high, but you never know your luck. Any idea on pricing, you can buy a new one here for $7000 plus 13% tax. So I was thinking if I can get it for max of about $1500 then might be a good deal. Think I am dreaming or what?

From what I have read it is a rebadged Jinma 204, is that correct?

Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated.

Thanks for the help.
David

I think the only way you will get it for $1500 is with a gun and a mask :D:D
-- you never know but with 64 hours unless someone was riding the clutch all the time or using 4wd on hard surfaces it is tough to imagine it needs much. It is a rebadged Jinma that some of the dealers around here seem to be selling lately
Good luck but if you do get it for your high bid I suggest you do a lottery "happy dance"
Be good to know what it does go for

Hey Fellas,

Thought you might want an update. I went to the auction and saw the tractor. It has the Y380T engine, is 4wd and shuttle shift, 6F and 2R. Also has two rear remotes. Nice little tractor looked in good shape, didn't hear it run or anything, but I assume it runs and works fine. Unfortunately the tractor was at the end of the auction and I couldn't stay around, but I called the auction place the next day and found out it wasn't sold so I asked about price, apparently the owner is willing to let it go for $6500 + 10% auction fee + tax!!!! What a deal heh!!!!!!!! What are these people thinking? Must be waiting for a sucker I guess. Anyway, no luck on the tractor, but enjoyed looking around the auction anyway. Maybe next time.

Later.

If he can get that much, good for him. I'm having a hard time getting that for a new JM284 with same options.

Good day David,

Too bad for the tractor. You were also looking for a dump trailor. Did you had a chance to have a look at it?

Auctions are just like the few months before christmas, lots of dreams to only get that ugly reindeer sweather.

Hi Marc,

I did look at the trailer, seemed ok. Wasn't very heavily built though. Didn't get any further pricing so I don't know if it sold or not.

Maybe I should call about that one too. Let you know if I do.

David
