Farm Pro 2420 stuck in 3rd

Hello everyone,

Recently bought a Farm Pro 2420 (~300hrs) and have been dragging logs around as we clear some of our property.

Yesterday, I pulled a small (6"x10') log 100' in 3rd low. When I stopped to unhitch, I couldn't get it out of gear and it won't roll. I had left the differential locked from the last log and when I went to disengage to see if that had something to do with it, the lever seems loose/disengaged.

So, I am stuck in 3rd, on a small decline which it does not want to roll down. I can shift between high-low. The clutch engages (I can start/run it as long as the clutch is down). I have driven it around with the differential locked more than I should have, but always on turf/sand.

Not a mechanic, any help is appreciated.

I would suspect the shift fork. You can take the top off of the transmission very easily and inspect it. It's just a few bolts.

I am going to assume that your transmission is the same as my Jinma 284 and here are a couple of things that may help.
1st picture is the position of gears when 3rd gear is engaged.
2nd drawing is one that I created many years ago to help me understand the transmission.

I had a guy come by and look at it. It was in 2 gears at once. The issue now is that the 1st/reverse rail is too far back; it will engage in reverse, but won't move ahead into N or 1st. Seems like the problem is in the rear end, so he's going to take the top off in his shop and see what's going on.
