Farm Pro 2425 4WD
I have a Farm Pro that had about 30 hrs. before I parked it about 5 yrs ago......so I decided to put it back to work, so I bought a new battery hooked it up and it fired right up, worked it for about 10 minutes and it shut down so I figured it was some bad fuel so I drained the tank and refilled it with fresh diesel it fired up and I worked the tractor for about 45 minutes and it shut back down thinking I might have to drain it again to get back to the house but I don't want to have to drain the tank every 10 to 45 minutes.......can someone please help me with my issue......maybe tell me whats wrong, or point me in the right direction.......

i`m probably not going to be much help, but hang in there i`m sure others will post ideas, i`d start by looking into the the fuel tank to see if crud or debris is clogging up the fuel port, when was the last time the fuel filter was changed? it might be plugged up?another thing i might try would be to disconnect the fuel line supply line at the pump to see if your getting fuel to the pump.might be a restriction or blockage of the fuel line.

I have thought about those things but it fired up when i drained it and replaced the fuel the first time so could it still be the filters? I was thinking if they was clogged it wouldn't have even started after the first time I drained and replaced the fuel.....I was trying to avoid alot of trial and error lol but it seems like thats the only way.........

I'm guessing it's running on what's in the fuel filter cannister. Since it ran, that means the high pressure side of your fuel delivery system is working. But it's the low pressure side that moves fuel from the tank to/through the filter housing. Is fuel flowing to/through the sediment bowl? If no, drain tank, remove sediment bowl and the fitting that connects it to the tank. Clean the screen at the top of that fitting, and the screen in the bowl housing. If yes, remove/inspect the hoses between the tank and the pump. One or more may have an inline screen that's dirty. Clean/reinstall, try again. If that doesn't work, suspect the lift pump.

Mine (a 204) stopped on me a few weeks back, started working lousy 'bout half hour or so before she died. She'd start right back up and run for a few seconds and slowly die so I figured it was the fuel filter, so on goes the new one. I needed diesel as I had just filled the tank so I had no fuel to fill the filter, figured no big deal I'll just pump it in with the primer. Well I pumped and pumped....no fuel, what the..... I took the fuel line off gong to pump and it was barely dripping out. I blew back thru the line and voila....fuel was flowing again. Only thing I can figure a bit of rust or crap of some kind blocked the outlet and was only allowing a bit of fuel thru.
So...try taking your fuel line off at the pump and see if fuel flows out, check out your fuel bowl also, you might have a bunch of water in there from setting for so long, or rust if the tank wasn't full....Mike
