Farm Pro 2425
Couple of questions for you guys. I just bought a new 2425 farm pro at a Homier tent show and I must say so far I love it.I got a really good deal, much cheaper than from Northern or the 2 used car dealers that handle them in this area. My questions are this, on the fuel pump there is a "d" ring, what is that for and the other is do you put a fluid in the tires of a 4 wheel drive tractor? This is it for starters, I'm sure I have a 1000 more questions before long.

Not all injection pumps are configured exactly the same, but most all of them hold a few of ounces of hydraulic oil for lubrication and cooling. There's a good chance that D-ring is attached to the oil breather/fill cap.

Fluid in the tires is a personal decision - whether for 2wd or 4wd - based upon the type work performed by the tractor. If you do a lot of FEL work, additional rear weight can't hurt. If you carry hefty loads around on the TPH, additional front weight can't hurt.

Having said that, liquid filled front tires and FEL operation are not generally recommended.

The ring on the injector pump is attached to the bleed valve for easy bleeding without tools. (If you run out of fuel). Did they show you the primper pump that unscrews and pumps fuel through the system?

Most Farm Pro/Jinma owners have not found it necessary to fill their tires because of the included standard wheel weights. These are tube type tires. I suppose you could fill them part way with used antifreeze if you felt you needed more ballast. TSC sells an adaptor to attach a garden hose to a valve stem.

If stability is what you are looking for, you can reconfigure the rear wheels to give a wider stance.

This forum will surely help fill in the gaps in information that a local dealer may have been able to help you with. We normally spend a good half hour (customer patience permitting) going over the controls and features and important items like being sure to retourqe the lug nuts after a few hours of running and every 10 hours, check for any loosened bolts, at least during the first 50 hours of use. I dont' think the road crews have time for that, but they do give you an 800 number to call, and it is true they will give you a little better price on the tractor. We try to earn that extra money with customer service (although honestly it has more to do with cost of inbound freight).

blue chip has it right, the D rings on the side of the injector pump is used to OPEN to BLEED th einjector pump of AIR: something that maybe the problem that others don't realize they are there for. one thing is go to JOHNS'S web site and read all the JINMA info, (the farm pro is a JINMA tractor) bone up on all the maintenance info there!!! it will saive you time effort and help you get to know you're tractor . as haveblue said, Dealer support is soemthing you pay for, farmpro uses 800 number which have has +/- responces, some say it was OK others say long waits and not a lot of helpfull INFO but usually PARTs have been OK to get when needed form them...

if you need help ask away, besure to read all the info on johns site though it may take you an hr or two but it is well worth it. most of the info posted there was compiled by john as given to him by many others and some articals written by others, (myself included!) on HOW TO's and HELPFULL hints as well as Modifications...

oh and WELCOME to the wonderfull world of tractor ownership...

Thanks for the help men. I'll have to confess this is my first experience with a diesel of any kind, so I have a lot to learn. One of the first things I did learn is you don't want to spill the stuff on you. The oder seems to iritate wives.
Since the 2425 is replacing a '48 8N Ford I have had for 18 years, I was in for some surprises. After getting it fired up and warmed up I hooked up a 5' bush hog to give it the acid test. Well as you all know this little guy didn't back off at all. I went places I wouln't dare go with the old Ford. My place is in the mountains and it is all up or down, no level land to speak of and I mowed for 4 hrs. Joy O joy, I thought I had died and gone to heaven! I think I polished every rock on the place. Can't wait for it to grow back so I can do it all over!
