I am looking to buy a compact tractor. From the research that I have done, Farm Pro seems to be a great deal. I would like to know what Price range is appropriate for a 4wd 25Hp. From what I've seen, the big names are so expensive that they are completely out of my arena. Your help would be greatly apperciated. JSP

I am a FarmPro dealer and I agree with you that the 2425 (JInma 254) is a great value. You may be aware that there are two ways to purchase a FarmPro, either from a dealer or at Homiers tool show. YOu may save a little money at the toolshow, but buying from a dealer with a permanent place of business, repair bays etc. has some obvious advantages. Also some dealers offer extended warranty plans (at least we do here at ARTRAC).

If there is not a FarmPro dealer near you, there is likely to be a Jinma dealer close by and I'd recommend you give them an opportunity to earn your business. I expect they will jump in here if you post where you are located.

In any event, read the posts on the CTOA www.ctoa.net message board and the archives as well. YOu may want to visit www.johnstractor.homestead.com JOhn is a JInma user and not a dealer and has compiled an excellent resourse of Jinma information. If you spend some time on these sites you will have a good understanding of the capabilities and care that these tractors give and take respectively.

If you are in or near Arkansas, I would certainly welcome your visit!

I believe another advantage of a Homier dealer over the Tool Show, is the ability to get a Koyker 160 FEL over the JM ZL-20. ZL20 is fine for most jobs, but for extended FEL work, you are probably better off with a Koyker. As long as you have some mechanical ability, a Jinma is great little tractor.

Went and looked at these in Umatilla Florida last week, looks like dealers starting to pop up more and more here in Florida. Needless to say from what I have read about fit and finish is for the most part correct, not quite perfect but the money saved you can get a paint job in high fashion glitter to match the bass boat. I ordered a 2420 2wd with 4ft cutter and box blade and mostly just needed a mowing unit better than a rider. Worked as a mechanic for 10 years so a little tinkering is fine for me. As far as running the one I demod looked pretty well made and very simple to maintain. Total cost on this was 4600 dollars /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
