Hi Gang. I have a gentleman who bought a Chinese tractor called a Farm System. He said it was from 1994. He needs an oil filter for it and I have never heard of this tractor. I know it is Chinese, 2 cylinder and probably Yang Dong and is model J285T. Anyone know where a oil filter can be had.

The filter is about 3 1/4" long has about an in diameter of about 1 1/2 on the hole. There is diamond imprint with some Chinese writing on it but no part number.

Sorry for the lack of info but I don't have the machine and am getting info from customer.

Thanks,
maka

I'm unaware of any YangDong 2 cylinders, and anyway - a Y285 sounds awful small - I'm guessing 16hp or less. But it might be a TY290X, TY295, or XN2100. The info stamped on the engine plate is important. Is any of it still legible?

Thanks,
Bob

OK, first 85mm two cylinder I've run across. Without any more info from the engine plate, I'm can only speculate. But we might be talking Jiangxi JiangLing; what's suggested to be a Chinese Mahindra. See Tractor (FS180) - China Tractor in Tractor and FS180 Tractor

Sorry that doesn't answer the original question, but it might help get pointed in a more definite direction

OK, he said it is a Jiangxi. Any filter sound like what I described?

Thanks,
Bob

Well, you only gave two dimensions, so that didn't tell me cartridge-type or spin-on. Except for the inch and a half hole, I'd have guessed spin-on. But 1.5" an awful big thread size, and for a spin-on that may be problematic.

Any replacement filter is likely going to be metric anyway. Think the customer can be a bit more specific?.

Bob

OK, We might get this with time. My KM454 uses cartridges. One is (and these are approximate) about 83mm wide, 119mm tall, and the top/bottom holes are about 39mm. Another is about 68x84x34. The third one isn't even close

These two are as close as I have that are near your estimated 1.5" center hole (that's the same as 38.7mm).

Moreso than with spin-ons, all dimensions of a cartridge filter must be exact. You probably already know why - because both top and bottom holes must seal against fixed 0-rings.

Thanks Greg. I will send the info as a PM. I am going to have t he guy bring to me so I can take measurements and get it done. I don't want to take to much time from good folks here trying to help so I will have him drop it in to me and expedite the process.

Thanks so much.

You could just take it into NAPA or any petroleum distributor and have them match it up.
