Farmall A tractor

Hi to everyone, just join and this is my first post.....I have two farmall A's, one has been sitting sence 1997 inside a shop and the other one I just bought a month ago and i was using it ( which ran like new) and I let it run out of gas and it hasn't hit a lick sence....got blue spark at plugs, if choked will wet plugs with gas, timing is still dead on, compression is 90 to 108 lbs.....i am at wits end.......I thought I was a pretty good shade tree machanic....but I'm lost!!!!!!!!!... could someone please help.......thanks in advance......have A bless day

I don't know much about that tractor but often times if you let a machine run out of gas you can suck crud through the lines. Check any carbs, in line fuel filters, etc. good luck.

There is a screen in the fuel line where it screws into the carb. Try checking that.

it had a little rust in it but not enough to stop up line, you can choke for 3 to 4 rounds and it will wet the plugs....has plenty of blue / white fire at plugs...huh.....i have tried everything that i can think of but will not crank.....it ran as new before it ran out of gas

Might try dropping the plug out of the bottom of the fuel bowl. Catch it in something, and see if there is any crud/rust that got by the filter screen. Could be some crud sucked through to the main jet. You could get enough gas with full choke to wet the plugs, and maybe get a pop, but not to run.

I'd be tempted to drop the carb., and remove the bowl, and jets, and give it a good cleaning with a can of carb cleaner through all of the ports.

Please don't take this suggestion as an insult. It sounds like you have covered most all of the normal "no start" issues. Are you sure that gasoline was used to fill the tank after you ran out of gas? If the tank was filed with diesel or some other liquid it could account for your problem.
