Hi all. I recently acquired a 1952 Farmall cub. It came with a property we purchased. It's all original and actually runs pretty well.
My question concerns the radiator fluid level. If I fill the radiator up and run the tractor for a few minutes or several minutes, after it builds pressure, it spits fluid out of the metal overflow line in the right bottom corner of the radiator. Not steam. Just fluid. So I don't know if this is just normal for a thermo syphon type system ( no water pump), or not. Will it spit out the excess fluid until it find the right level or should I be concerned? I did replace the radiator cap. I don't think it's overheating, no steam, just fluid. Any advice would be appreciated . Thanks. George

Often the right level is about 1 inch below the neck!

when it quits spitting it's the right level Make sure it's not blowing bubbles in the radiater after it stabilizesl bubbles could indicate a head gasket problem
