Is it possible just the valve stem is bad, since the tires went flat when the tractor was sitting in place for about a year, does this mean the whole tube needs to be replaced?

Never heard of replacing less than a whole tube...(grin). If the tires are truely flat and you know that no one let the air out on purpose, you can be pretty assured of two things...1) you do not have fluid in them otherwise the rims would be corroded at the stem. 2) you need new tubes. Once you get the tires off the rims, check the tires where they impacted the ground for "rot"...you may want to put a sleeve in the tire at that point. New 12.4x38s are not cheap....By the way, I've had Farmalls for most of my life and have never seen one on tubless rims/tires. BobG in VA
I got the rims off the ground fairly quickly and have had it jacked up since. I don't know where the air is leaking. I was thinking of putting a boot in the tires along with new tubes. Does anyone know where to find used tractor tires in east Texas?
