Farmall Touch-Control reservoir

The Farmall Super C manual requires 6-3/4 pints of IH Touch-Control Fluid.
Does anyone know where this can be obtained?
Is there an acceptable substitute?

I use Hy-Tran, or a generic from like TSC, that meets Hy-Tran specs. in mine. Been using it for 20 years or so, and no problems.

just find a utf fluid meeting the hy tran specs. walmart, tsc.. etc..

Warning! Make sure that you have the touch control levers back (towards the seat) when you take the drain plug out!!! If not, the system will be under pressure and you will empty the entire 6 3/4 quarts in one millisecond. I know from experience. :drool:

I had to throw away the shirt, jacket, and pants that I was wearing when I went to change the fluid in my touch control.

The system is closed and has no vent, but will vent very quickly when you remove the drain plug.

BTW: Just go to the local International (McCormick) dealer and buy a gallon of the Hy-tran. I think it was $23.00, but you should never have to change it again. It actually says in the manual on my 140, that the only time you should change the fluid is when doing repairs to the system, but I bought the tractor last year and wanted to make sure it had "good" fluid in it. The manual also warns (numerous times) to use nothing, but HYTRAN, even to flush it.
