I picked up a farmstar post hole digger at Quality farm and fleet (going out of business sale) for about $275. It seemed like a gret deal with 9" auger. I have never heard of this company - does anybody have any experience?

Thanks,

Eric

I have a Farm Star grader blade and have not had any problems with it.

Farmstar is a division of Worksaver, they set it up so they won't tick off their regular distributors by selling the same line to the multi chain farm stores at a higher discount. It's the same stuff just painted yellow instead of red.
PS the distributors aren't amused

Billybob is exactly correct. I have a Farm Star backblade that I got at F&F, just before we knew they were going out of business./w3tcompact/icons/mad.gif At least it was on sale at the time./w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif I've used it for snow removal several times and am very happy with it. One of the snows was 18", so it has gotten some fairly heavy use. I also have a Worksaver Landscape Rake (same manufacturer as Billybob explained), and am extremely happy with it. I have used it many times and have never had a problem. Your posthole digger should serve you well.

Yea, it all comes from the same place.

I've got the Farmstar labeled EB-6 blade and the 2n1 middlebuster/ripper.

Here are the web page links;

Eric,
I have a farm star post hole digger with both the 9" and 12" auger. Unlike youi, I didn't get the deep discount! (Rats) But the unit has been trouble free. I did have to bend the handle to avoid hitting the tractor seat at some 3pt positions. Other than that, be sure you have a pocket full of grade 2 shear bolts if you have many rocks in your area.

Thanks for the good posts. I have always wanted a post hole digger and I can't weight for the weather to break. John, I will go and get a surplus of shear bolts - thanks for the tip.

Eric
