I have recently purchased a new farmtrac 270, and opon delivery, the dealer pointed out to me that the turn signals and hazard flashers do not work, he said all 270s and 320s that he had ever seen were that way. I did not buy into it, but did not push the issue because he had just delivered it to me from his dealer which is 72 miles away on a Friday night at 8 oclock and did not charge me a delivery fee, not to mention his price was 2k below anyone elses in my area. I figured that I would just trace the circuit down and if it was something simple like a fuse, flasher, or connector that was not hooked up from the factory I would just fix it myself when time permitted and if it was not simple or cheap, I would make a warranty claim. I took the dash apart yesterday, and could not find anything obviosly wrong, daedong timer relay was present and plugged in (looks expensive!!), fuse was good and did have power coming out of back of fuse box, all I could find was one 3 terminal male connector with blue wires going to it, one of which has a red tracer, but saw nowhere fo it to plug into. Any experience with this problem or a ways to fix it? Any advice would be greatly appreciated /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Long ships the tractors with the turn signals/flashers disconnected, the dealer is supposed to connect them as part of the prep for delivery to the customer. I worked at a local Long dealer as a mechanic for awhile, and had to do this on several new tractors. If my memory serves me correctly, the wires are below the steering column to the right.

Thank you for the tip, I will tear into the dash again this morning after the wife leaves, she gets angry when I tear apart brand new stuff. I will reply later with what I find. /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

I just returned from the garage and was only partialy successful in getting everything working. I determined that as far as the turn signals go, there must be some kind of pigtail harness that I am missing. I traced the turn signal power wire out of the back of the fusebox to the first connector, which is where I found the first problem, there is no terminal or wire in the connector body on the side that runs to the steering column the power wire prettymuch runs to the connector and stops. I pulled the light switch off of the column and the blue wires that I spoke of in my earlier post definetly go to the turn signal portion of the switch, the wires go to a 3 pin connector and despite searching for an hour, could not find anything that it could possibly plug into. I did determine that one wire is supposed to be the power into the switch, while the other two are for the left and right turn signals. The hazards on the other hand had a bad flasher unit, I determined this by taking some jumper wires and adapting an old G.M. flasher on (the farmtrac flasher is 3 pin) and presto, working hazards. I plan to call the dealer tomorrow to discuss problem, will keep you posted. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I am thinking (its been a while since I worked on one) that the connector for the turn signals is heat shrunk and tie wrapped to another wire bundle under the dash.
